Learn To Speak Spanish With Adjectives
The need to learn to speak Spanish might have many reasons for different people. Some might need it in order to have better job prospects, while some might want to pursue it as a hobby, or for academic purposes as a second language. Another interesting fact you might like to know is that around 400 million people in the world speak Spanish. Also, 20% of the US population knows the language, which makes for a pretty decent percentage.
One of the basics to learn to speak Spanish is the usage of adjectives, since there are some rules to do this properly, as is the case in any language. These adjectives are actually a lot similar to those written in English. For instance, words ending in -ble is one set that is common to English and Spanish. Most often, they are spelt in the same way, albeit pronounced in different manners. In Spanish, the last part of the word is pronounced as blay. For instance, portable would be pronounced as port-a-blay in Spanish.
Next is the set of words ending in -nte. These are spelled and pronounced a lot similar to English words that end in nt. If you start to learn to speak Spanish, you will encounter many words that end with this, like the word excellente, which bears the same meaning as the English word excellent.
English adjectives having an -ic at their end also have the same meaning in Spanish if an ‘o’ is placed after the -ic. For instance, the word fantastico means fantastic. The same rule holds true for words that end with an -id, like rapid, which would be rapido in Spanish. While this might not seem like a convenient manner to get acquainted with the language, the major benefit in this case is that one can build a sound understanding and then take it further from there.
